Little Longstone is a tiny, linear village running a few hundred metres from the edge of Great Longstone to just short of the popular beauty spot at Monsal Head. Little Longstone is within an easy hour's drive of Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield and Derby and easily reached from almost anywhere in the North and Midlands.

Packed into that short stretch of Derbyshire Peak District land is a cracking little dog friendly pub called the Packhorse Inn (Thornbridge Ales, Theakstones and good food), a quaint congregational chapel, many attractive cottages, a Manor House, fields full of sheep and cattle, a great choice of self catering holiday accommodation including Little Longstone Barns and an excellent quality b&b (The Hollow) which also serves light lunches and teas & coffees in its lovely garden overlooking the field paths running down to the Monsal Trail.

With footpaths all around the village, an annual well-dressing (blessing of the wells), very easy access to the Monsal Trail (tunnels opening in May 2011) and close to Monsal Dale, Chatsworth, Bakewell and more, Little Longstone is one of those 'secret' places that you'll want to enjoy and keep to yourselves - imagine an early morning stroll watching the Dippers bobbing along the river Wye in Monsal Dale followed by lunch in the beer garden at the Packhorse and an afternoon spent quietly reading a good book?

You've got the idea - Little Longstone, the stress-free UK holiday destination...

You can always 'do' Chatsworth tomorrow!
